Panel to probe 'Kui, Kui Khao'

Mcot has set up a panel to investigate alleged irregularities in the payment of advertising revenue by well-known TV host Sorrayuth Sutthasanachinda's 'Kui Kui Khao' programme on Channel 9 and other cases of possible corruption.
The 11-person committee headed by former senator Pol Gen Prathin Santipraphob has a mandate to look into alleged irregularities, especially "indirect" ad revenues - believed to amount to some Bt90 million - that reportedly should have gone to Mcot, the Mass Communications Organisation of Thailand. The committee will investigate the reason for the alleged irregularity by Sorrayuth's firm Rai Som. The panel is authorised to look through all related documents and summon witnesses for questioning. The committee will be asked to produce a set of short-term and long-term recommendations to prevent such incidents occurring again. The committee has also been asked to give a recommendation to the Mcot board on what to do with the case. Other members of the committee include former senator Niran Pitakvatchara, Pol Lt Gen Thanee Somboonsab and Pichet Maolanond.
