Maker of Yum Yum sees 15% growth on relaunch of Jumbo series

Wan Thai Food Industry, the manufacturer of products under the Yum Yum brand, expects its sales to grow 15 per cent next year after the relaunch of the Yum Yum Jumbo Tom Yum series.

President Satoru Nakamura said the company had set a marketing budget of Bt20 million to promote its new products next year, with 70 per cent of the budget for mass media and 30 per cent for event marketing.

The company forecasts the instant-noodle market will grow only 5 per cent next year. Nakamura estimates its

sales growth will be greater than average market growth because the new Tom Yum series will meet customers' demands.

He said the company had improved the taste of Yum Yum Jumbo, increasing the spiciness and hot and sour taste of all the products in the Tom Yum series. They include Tom Yum Kung, Tom Yum Kung Creamy and Tom Yum Minced Pork flavours.

Market research indicates the Tom Yum flavour range has 50 per cent of the total instant-noodle market.
