Honda launches new CR-V

Honda has launched the third generation of its CR-V range, aiming to attract sports-utility vehicle (SUV) fans with special prices starting from Bt1.18 million.
“Projected sales of the new CR-V are expected to reach about 8,000 units during the first year of launch in the Thai market,” Hiroshi Toda, president of Honda Automobile (Thailand), said on Monday. “Thailand’s total vehicle sales during the first 10 months of this year were 539,782 units, of which around 4.3 per cent, or 23,333 units, were SUVs. Honda’s CR-V is among the top five best-selling SUVs in the same period.” Asian Honda Motor chief executive officer Tatsuhiro Oyama said that after the launch of the new CR-V in the United States in September, there were orders for more than 20,000 vehicles. The new CR-V comes in three models: the 2.0 S, priced at Bt1.18 million; the 2.0 E with four-wheel drive, at Bt1.28 million; and 2.4 EL with a five-speed automatic gearbox, at Bt1.47 million. The all-new Honda CR-V will be available for bookings at the Thailand International Motor Expo 2006 from tomorrow until December 11 at Impact, Muang Thong Thani, and displayed at all Honda showrooms starting today.
