Shin Satellite made a net loss of Bt746.8 million in the third quarter, compared with a net profit of Bt154.4 million in the same period last year.
The reversal was attributed chiefly to a Bt980.6-million loss caused by the retirement of one of its satellites, according to financial statements filed with the Stock Exchange of Thailand yesterday. - The Nation.
AIS ails in Q3 Advanced Info Service yesterday posted a third-quarter net profit of Bt3.65 billion, a 13-per-cent decrease from the earnings of Bt4.18 billion it made in the same period last year. In its filing to the Stock Exchange of Thailand, the mobile-phone operator said its nine-month net profit had also dropped. It decreased from Bt14.11 billion last year to Bt13.07 billion in the January-to-September period this year. - The Nation.
iTV 47% down iTV yesterday posted a third-quarter net profit of Bt89 million, down 47.3 per cent from Bt168 million in the same period last year. In its filing to the Stock Exchange of Thailand, the free-TV operator said it had reaped Bt510 million in revenue in the quarter, down 11.9 per cent from Bt579 million in the same period a year earlier. "The drop resulted from the adverse external effects of economic and political environments that have carried on since early 2006 and negatively impacted the company's customers in terms of their advertising spending budgets," iTV said. - The Nation.
