Hot to trot

Tata Young raises the thermostat for her latest live show
Thailand's sexiest singer Tata Young returns to the stage next month for a concert that promises to be even hotter than last year's back-to-back sell-out shows on her "Dhoom Dhoom" tour. Tata, whose "Temperature Rising" concert takes place at Impact Arena, Muang Thong Thani on December 15, looked every inch the superstar for last week's meeting with the press, turning up in a tight-fitting black satin shirt over a red bra matched with a dark-brown miniskirt and black leather kneeboots. She's well in control of show and already has the dozens of sexy costumes she'll be wearing on stage. "Every round of my concerts will have the same costumes," she replies, when asked about the possibility of adding more shows. "I'm afraid that my fans would be dissatisfied if I did it any differently." And she may be right. Last year, Tata set a record with her concert, selling 20,000 tickets in a flash. Thai and foreign fans were mesmerised by her energy and sexy stage performance, making it one of the most talked about shows of the year. Earlier this year, she released her second English-language album, "Temperature Rising", on the Sony-BMG label, and the red-hot single, "El Nin Yo", shot up to No 1 on the charts of radio stations all over Thailand. It was also a massive hit in Japan, Singapore, Taiwan and South Korea. "There are more dancers and a lot of surprises," she says of the December 15 concert, during which she'll perform 24 numbers from her latest album. The show is being staged the day after her birthday. "It will be my greatest gift," she says with a happy smile. "I think people come to my concert because they want to be entertained by me and my music, not to find faults," she adds, when asked whether she'll be inviting her most ardent critic, Rabiebrat Pongpanit, president of the Happy Family Association.
