Former TRT MP to be questioned over arson attack

A former Thai Rak Thai Party MP for Nakhon Ratchasima will be interviewed by police over the latest arson attack on None Rang School on Saturday night.
However, Provincial Police Bureau 3 commander LtGeneral Sathaphorn Laothong said there was no connection between the arson attack and area MPs or local politicians.Prachathippatai Khamsingnok was an MP for Chum Phuang district where the school is located. Prachathippatai was also secretary to former interior minister Kongsak Vantana in the last cabinet under the ousted Thaksin Shinawatra government. Sathaphorn said police would soon contact both former and incumbent politicians at all levels - provicial MPs, senators and members of local administrative bodies - for interviews. The officer said yesterday that police would also summon for questioning a number of teenagers who were convicted of stealing wild pigs raised by the school. He quoted witnesses as saying that four young men on two motorcycles stopped at the school at 10pm last Saturday night, 30 minutes before the fire broke out. A large benzine stain and pieces of tyre were found along with bags of snack foods in the place where the four men had stopped their motorcycles. All 21 teachers at the school and another 10 witnesses have been interviewed.
