In brief : Pacific-Thai plan

The Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat and Thailand last week signed a Development Cooperation Framework Action Plan for the provision of technical assistance to members of the forum in a number of sectors, according to the Fiji Times.

Forum secretary-general Greg Urwin and Thai director-general of American and South Pacific Affairs at the Foreign Ministry, Nongnuth Phetcharatana, signed the deal. Urwin said the action plan would strengthen technical cooperation in the priority areas of agriculture, tourism, education and health.

Thailand and member countries will strengthen economic cooperation by promoting trade and increasing Thai investments in the Pacific Islands.
