Abbot seeks probe into land deed

The abbot of Wat Suan Kaew yesterday called on the Land Department to investigate how his temple received a duplicate title deed after it "legally" purchased one rai in Bang Yai district.

Phra Phayom Kalayano said the department's Bang Yai district office issued a duplicate deed to his temple after it paid Bt10 million for an adjacent plot two years ago.

The land had been transferred to the temple but a third party is claiming ownership.

"I want the courts and the department to look into it. Where did the problem come from and whose fault is it?" he said.

Phra Phayom said he would contact victims of similar cases and would hold a news conference with them on November 9 to demand justice.
