Torch run on November 4

[ASIAN GAMES] The Asian Games torch relay run in Thailand will start at Suvarnabhumi International Airport on November 4.

The run is being held in 19 cities across the 15 countries that had previously hosted the Asiad.

The run will proceed to Suphachalasai National Stadium, going through many areas of the city on the way.

The torch will then be taken on a boat on the Chao Phya River. "The torch relay will pass the Grand Palace and the Temple of Dawn to highlight the beauty of Thai tradition to all Asians," said General Yuthasak Sasiprapa, president of the Olympic Committee of Thailand.

The flame will return to the National Stadium on the same day. HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana will be the last runner to carry the torch and will light the cauldron. The names of other relay runners have yet to be announced.
