IT'S ALL IN THE GAME
A kiss is just a kiss . . .

Many tennis fans who watched the Davis Cup match between Russia and the US may have come to the conclusion that two of the winning team's male stars had suddenly come out of the closet when one kissed the other at the end of a game. But Dmitry Tursunov and Igor Andreev, ranked No 22 and No 39 in the world, were not making any sort of statement about being gay.
But tennis fans in Thailand, especially the ones who are gay, should not jump to any conclusions about the two Russian hunks. What they saw was not what they thought. Kissing on the lips, even if the other person is of the same sex, is a common practice in some eastern European countries. Tursunov had just defeated Andy Roddick in a marathon match to take Russia to victory over the US in the Davis Cup semi-final on Sunday. Andreev, who was overwhelmed with joy after the win, approached his team-mate and caught him off guard with a kiss on the lips. For Andreev, the kiss was normal behaviour, but Tursunov looked agitated for a moment. Andreev may have forgot that his friend grew up in the US where such behaviour is not condoned.
Marcos likes to surf the web Tennis player Marcos Baghdatis, who is ranked No 8 in the world, has a gorgeous girlfriend, Cypriot supermodel Camille Neviere, but it seems he pays more attention to other matters. And we don't mean he is showing an interest in Thai girls. Every time the local media sees the pony-tailed tennis star he has been busy with his computer notebook. Holding it in his left arm, Baghdatis had his eyes on the screen and his right hand busy on the keyboard all the time. It was not known what he was looking at, but it has to be something really intriguing. He has been spotted paying more attention to his computer than his charming date in the player's lounge. Too bad he has pulled out of the Thailand Open. But one good thing for him is now he can spend the next few weeks with his computer while resting his injured shoulder.
