The Crown Prince of Tonga (left) was sworn in as King Taufau'ahau Tupou V on Monday. His father, the late Taufa'ahau Tupou IV, who came to the throne in 1965, passed away on Monday. The picture shows the new king, then the crown prince with HRH Prince Sirindhorn during his official visit to Bangkok to attend the celebration of HM the King’s 60 th accession to the throne in June.

The government may seek legal advice from the Council of State in light of a growing call for it to submit the proposed list of military rotations for vetting by the Election Commission (EC), its spokesman Surapong Suebwonglee said on Tuesday.

Tokyo - Japan's newborn prince, who is in line to become emperor in a generation's time, on Tuesday was named Hisahito, or "serene one," as his parents wished him a long and serene life.
