Schools in Phitsanulok closed indefinitely due to flash floods

At least ten school in Phitsanulok were closed indefinitely as students and teachers could not go to classes after flash floods hit the province.

Most of the schools that were forced to close were in Bangrakam district, where is the hardest hit by the flood.

Thienchai Jujia, director of provincial education department, said the floods happened after consecutive days of heavy rains. The water level in Yom River was so high that it poured over the banks onto local villagers' houses.

Thienchai said each school in the province can make its own decision whether to cancel classes or not or when it would resume the classes.
