E-auctions to be held for city works projects

The capital's Public Works Department is seeking contractors for 30 construction projects via e-auction.

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration says the auctions should guarantee low prices. Bidding has been approved by Governor Apirak Kosayodhin.

Most of the projects are for roads, land and buildings.

The department is ready to accept e-bids for the first 12 projects. They were expected to cost Bt337 million. For example, resurfacing roads and footpaths on Sukhaphibal Road will cost Bt59 million, Klong Yai Road repairs will cost Bt28 million and it will take Bt49 million to fix Boromrajajonani Road.

Budgets are being prepared for the other projects. Bidding should be finalised this month.
