Gen Sonthi visits Burma

Army Commander in Chief Sonthi Boonyratglin left for Burma on Monday where he will hold talks with junta leaders on the increasing drugs trade along the border.
This is his second visit in two months, and is the latest in a series of high-level meetings between the neighbours. His trip comes amid growing international pressure on the isolated military-run state over its dismal rights record and concern over the flow of drugs through the region. "Thailand and Myanmar [Burma]'s relationship has developed quite smoothly with no major disputes to date," Sondhi said before departing.
