BKK governor passes with 5/10 : Poll

Bangkok residents have given their governor a pass grade on his report card after two years in the hot seat, according to a poll released on Monday.

A Bangkok University survey asked 1,290 city people aged 18 and over in all 50 city districts how they rated satisfaction with Governor Apirak Kosayodhin.

Apirak has been in the job for two years now.

Respondents awarded Apirak an overall job approval mark of 5.17 out of a possible 10.

He polled highest for resident satisfaction in urban cleanliness and environment initiatives, but flunked traffic and transport.

His individual efforts rated a mark of 5.71 out of 10. He received his highest rating in this category for diligence and dedication to work. He scored the least when it came to seeing projects through.

Asked if they thought the governor had met expectations, 57.1 per cent said yes, 26.8 per cent thought he had not and 16 per cent rated him better than expected.

The problem people most want?ed Apirak to solve was traffic con?gestion, followed by personal and property safety and then Bangkok Metropolitan Administration cor?ruption.

Floods and the environment ranked numbers four and five on their wish list.
