Pallop 'was hostile to premier'

General Pallop Pinmanee was sacked as deputy chief of the Internal Security Operation Command because he became hostile to caretaker Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra after associating himself with the anti-government People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD), a senior Thai Rak Thai Party figure said yesterday.
Kuthep Saikrajang, a legal expert for the ruling party, said that over a period of several months before his dismissal, Pallop, a Thai Rak Thai member, had taken part in activities that were possibly damaging to Thai Rak Thai."He joined the PAD in activities that were destructive to the party. This is something the prime minister always ignored," Kuthep said. "When the bombing case took place, it was so serious that [Pallop] was sacked." Deputy Thai Rak Thai spokesman Jatuporn Phromphan said Pallop should have resigned on the day he began supporting the PAD. "He shouldn't have waited until he was sacked," Jatuporn said.
