New province to celebrate HM the King's 80 th birthday

The government announced on Tuesday a plan to create a new province to celebrate His Majesty the King's 80th birthday next year.
It would conduct a feasibility study into the proposal to merge districts of Phetchaburi and Prachuap Khiri Khan to form a new province.
The districts earmarked for inclusion were Chaam in Phetchaburi and Hua Hin, Pran Buri and Sam Roi Yod sub district in Prachuap Khiri Khan.
The Royal Klaikangwon Palace is in Hua Hin.
Interior Minister Kongsak Wantana said the initiative had been studied for some time. The government believed the plan should be implemented next year to celebrate His Majesty's 80th birthday.
Meanwhile, Interior permanent secretary Sujarit Patchimnant explained the government would seek the opinions of residents.
"The study and surveys will not take long. We already have a lot of information," Sujarit said.
