Politics causing stress, but less want Oct 15 poll

People's worries and stress about the political situation have increased but fewer people want the election to take place on October 15, a survey by Abac Poll revealed yesterday.
The number of respondents agreeing with the current election date decreased from 74 per cent last month to 61 per cent. However, more than 25 per cent had not decided because they were waiting to assess the situation. More respondents said they had conflicts with their families and friends, reminiscent of the hot political situation in April. Assumption University's Abac Poll surveyed 1,637 voters in and around Bangkok from last Thursday to Sunday. More than 75 per cent said they were bored with politics, 70 per cent were worried and 37 per cent felt stressed. Poll director Noppadon Kannika said the survey showed people's feelings towards politics were returning to the situation from February to April when another Abac poll found people were bored, stressed and had conflicts with those around them. Moreover, the current conflicts have led to physical clashes and might develop to fighting with weapons, which would be critical, he said. The solution might depend on whether the PM takes a break from politics, he said.
