'Track down flag burners'

The Democrat Party has urged the government to locate and take action against people who burnt the Thai flag hanging outside the home of party chief adviser Chuan Leekpai.

"This is an unusual case because it happened at the residence of Khun Chuan who is a former prime minister. Burning a national flag also sends a negative signal," the Democrat's deputy spokesman Sathit Pitutecha said yesterday.

Chuan, who is visiting families of those who were killed in the southern violence, said on Tuesday the national flag at his residence in Soi Mor Leng in Bangkok was set alight recently in the middle of the night while he slept inside, unaware.
