Pinij to quit the Cabinet

Caretaker Public Health Minister Pinij Charusombat yesterday said he would not accept a portfolio in the next government.

Even if the Thai Rak Thai Party wins the election and forms a government, he would not join the Cabinet, he said, adding that he would serve as a party-list MP.

He also said Somkid Jatusripitak, deputy prime minister and Commerce minister, planned to end his political career at the end of the caretaker government's tenure and was thinking about becoming a lecturer.
