X-Games to be held in Phuket

[X-GAMES] Foreign and local adventure lovers will have another challenge when they compete for prize money of more than Bt1 million when the first Adventure Race Thailand Championships starts from October 27-29 in Phuket.

The three-day event will take place on Patong Beach.

Co-organised by Isuzu Motors and RS Promotion, the competition will be staged to commemorate the 60th anniversary celebration of His Majesty the King's accession to the throne.

The competition will be held every year as the organisers want to make it a feature in the world of adventure sports.

The organisers also want to promote tourism in southern Thailand and to push the country to be the centre of adventure tourism in Asia.

The event will be split into an international division, different classes and an under-18 division. All teams taking part require four members, at least one of which must be a woman.

Anyone interested in taking part can join the three local warm-up stages, which will take place in Khon Kaen on September 2, Bangkok on September 9 and in Phitsanulok on September 30.
