Saran takes the title

[BADMINTON] Saran Cherdchurat defeated Pakhawat Wilailak 21-18 19-21 21-19 to win the fourth leg of the inaugural Thailand Masters Professional Badminton Championships after the men's singles final on Sunday in Chiang Mai.

In the doubles final, Kowit Pisetthasalalai and Peerasak Wiriyaphadungpong had a hard fought 21-19 21-19 victory over Athipong Kitjanon and Feng Chingchew.

The women's singles champion was Sithee Prueksapaisarnsil, who beat Porntip Buranaprasertsuk 21-18 21-18.

Wararat Ketnakhorn partnered Sawitree Amitpai to edge out Sutthipa Ekworratian and Watcharaporn Mankij 21-23 21-18 21-14 in the doubles final.

In the mix doubles, Thanawat Rattananon and Saisamorn Chatthanupakorn had a 10-21 21-14 22-20 come-from-behind win over Thitipong Lapo and Sawitree in a thrilling match.

After four legs of the tournament, the qualified players will vie for the top honours and a share of Bt1 million in the grand final at the Hua Mark Indoor Stadium from September 6-10.
