Taiwan forum heads to Bangkok

Bangkok Bank will be on hand to help Taiwanese investors connect with Thai businesses at the Taitronics Bangkok Exhibition scheduled for the last week of this month.

Taitronics is Taiwan's biggest annual business-to-business exhibition and is hosted by the Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association (TEEMA). This month's event in Bangkok will be the first time in 31 years that the exhibition, which is a showcase of Taiwan's leading electronics and auto-parts companies, is being held outside Taiwan.

Manufacturers from Taiwan, namely Tatung, BenQ Mobile Phone, Acer Computer and Federal Tyres will showcase their products and innovations at the fair. Bangkok Bank is the only commercial bank to have a booth at the event, which will be held at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Center (Bitec) in Bang Na, from July 27 to 30.

Prasong Uthaisangchai, senior executive vice president at Bangkok Bank, said the exhibition was aimed at expanding Taiwanese business in the Southeast Asian market by using Thailand as a launching pad.

"With more than 40 years experience of doing business in Taiwan and more than 60 years of experience in Thailand, Bangkok Bank has built up many enduring relationships in both countries which means we can help our Taiwanese and Thai partners do business together," he said.

At the exhibition, the bank will showcase its commercial banking products and services including trade services, foreign exchange and remittance processing services and loans.

Bangkok Bank has three branches in Taiwan, located in Taipei, Kaohsiung and Taichung.
