Thailand has included young Thassha Vittayaviroj as the last member of the Fed Cup team that will visit the Slovak Republic next week for the Fed Cup World Group II play-offs.
The 20-year-old, who represented the country for the first time in the SEA Games in the Philippines last year, will make her debut in the Cup.Besides Thassha, Thailand - already vulnerable with the withdrawal of the duo - will rely on Suchanan Viratprasert, Monthinee Tangphong and teenager Nudnida Luangnam to deliver the goods. The Slovaks will benefit greatly from the presence of world No 18 Daniela Hantuchova. World No 223 and 295 Magdalena Rybarinkova and Dominika Cibulkova as well as doubles expert Janette Husarova complete the team's line-up. The tie will take place next weekend on the indoor hard court at the Sibamac Arena National Tennis Centre Prikopova in Bratislava. Meanwhile in Cordoba, Spain, fourth-seeded Danai Udomchoke was knocked out by Slovak Ivo Klec 7-6 (7-2) 6-4 in the first round of the US$125,000 Ciudad de Pozoblanco Open Diputacion at Club Tennis Pozoblanco on Wednesday.
