Game intended for players from round the world
Fans of massive multi-player online role-playing games can now log on to compete against players from around the world in a new game launched by NC True, Guild Wars Factions.
NC True, a subsidiary company of True Corporation, has imported the game for players in Thailand. Unlike other online games, Guild Wars Factions does not charge a monthly fee to join in. Instead, players are required to pay one flat rate of Bt1,949 and will get access to play forever, which is much cheaper than paying a monthly fee of at least Bt350. The action role-playing game features beautiful graphics and a large story-driven campaign spanning dozens of hours and featuring an almost countless number of missions and side-quests. Factions is the follow-up to the original Guild Wars, but it is a stand-alone game which interconnects with the original game, no matter whether players own one or both versions. Whereas the first Guild Wars took place on and around the massive continent of Tyria, Factions introduces the Asian-inspired continent of Cantha. Cantha welds together various Chinese, Japanese, and other Asian influences into a beautiful but often bleak setting that's a good counterpart to the predominantly medieval-Western Tyria.
