Crisis 'won't end any time soon'

Thai politics might wallow in a grey zone for a considerable time as dissolving political parties was not easy and the election on October 15 appeared unlikely, outgoing Bangkok senator Wallop Tangkananurak said yesterday.

The caretaker government might have to stay on until next year as the remaining members of the Election Commission (EC) could not conduct an election, he said.

Wallop said investigations into the charges against the parties and the trial procedures would take a long time, because the parties should have the chance to testify and explain.
