Members sure party won't be dissolved

Thai Rak Thai party members are confident their party will not be dissolved after the Election Commission handed over legal documents and evidence from the Nam Yimyaem investigation to the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) on Tuesday.
A high-ranking official from the ruling party said the EC members were only doing their duty, adding: "The evidence does not show we have done something against the law, on the other hand, opposition parties are hoping we'll face adversity." The source also said most party members were not worried about the party being dissolved, and they will remain in their constituencies and wait for the election. A Wang Bua Ban faction member said he was ready to accept any outcome. "But, we don't to anticipate any situation in advance as the political situation can change anytime," he said. But he said that as the Democrats have been attacking the party many wonder if it's feasible to hold elections. A source from a Wang Nam Yom faction said: "Thai Rak Thai is a major party and we believe in our honesty. If anything the evidence points to the fact that it should not be dissolved." Wang Nam Yom faction leader Somsak Thepsuthin said some of his party members are worried about the present state of affairs and wonder how long it will take to resolve the political situation. When asked if he was worried about the party being dissolved he said: "Look at it as an exit way for a politician. We may not have reached a deadlock had we gone by a political-science rule-book. Nobody uses this method." "Today we have no MP, no parliament. However, we will raise the matter next week", Democrat Warong Dejkitwikrom said. He has been closely following the case and believes his party's case won't be handed over to the OAG because it has done nothing wrong. Also, a true Democrat does not want to destroy democracy as alleged by the Thai Rak Thai, he said. "I am not worried about our party's case being forwarded to the OAG for dissolution. However, if the EC hands over the evidence to the OAG, I think the EC will be acting out of bias," he said. Sucheera Pinijparakarn The Nation
