Nine gold for lifters

[WEIGHTLIFTING] Natthaneeya Chanplook yesterday added another bronze medal to Thailand's tally after her third place in the women's 58kg division at the Junior World Championships in Hangzhou, China, yesterday.

All three gold medals contested yesterday were won by Svetlana Tsarukaeva of Russia. Natthaneeya snatched 85kg and jerked 115kg for a total lift of 200kg, but her jerk total was level with Mercedes Perez of Columbia.

The bronze medal went

to the Thai girl due to her

lighter body weight. Thailand's Sureerat Thongsuk finished empty handed in the same division.

After three days of competition, the Thailand squad has nine gold medals, including two from Suda Chaleephai in the 53kg category.
