Army side are fourth

[VOLLEYBALL] Thailand's Army team finished fourth, while Iran's Paykan team dethroned defending champions Rahat of Kazakhstan 3-1 to win the crown at the Asian Men's Volleyball Club Championship in Manila on Sunday.

Apart from stunning China's Shanghai team for the first time since the foundation of the Volleyball Association of Thailand (VAT) 47 years ago, the Thai Army side also reached their maiden semi-final. However, the Thai squad went down 3-1 to the much stronger Rahat.

In the third place play

off match, the Thai Army team lost a hard-fought five-set battle 3-2 to Indonesia's BNI Taplus.
