England's Prince Andrew starts visit to Thailand

HRH Prince Andrew will be in Thailand from Wednesday until June 14 as a representative of HM Queen Elizabeth II at the 60th anniversary celebrations of His Majesty the King's accession to the throne.
In addition to attending the official celebrations, Prince Andrew will participate in a two-day trade and investment promotion programme, visit the Patana School in Bangkok and meet students who have received Chevening scholarships to study in the United Kingdom.As the UK's special representative for international trade and investment, Prince Andrew will meet caretaker Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, caretaker Deputy Prime Minister Surakiart Sathirathai, caretaker Foreign Minister Kantathi Suphamongkhon and caretaker Minister of Commerce Somkid Jatusripitak. Prince Andrew will open Boots' 100th store, visit Tesco's Rama 1 "Green" store and open Triumph Motorcycles Thailand's second plant in Chon Buri. He will also visit KPMG's offices to view the "Living Exhibition" organised by the Prince of Wales International Business Leaders Forum and meet existing and potential sponsors of the forum, attend a British Financial Services Sector luncheon, and meet executives from British manufacturing firms that have opened plants here. Prince Andrew will also meet leading Thai investors in the UK. His itinerary includes two dinners - one to celebrate Rolls-Royce's 10th anniversary with Thai Airways and another to mark the 60th anniversary of the British Chamber of Commerce in Thailand.
