The South East Asian Games Confederation (SEAGC) on Wednesday confirmed Nakhon Ratchasima as the main venue for the 24th SEA Games next year. The SEAGC has also decided to include four more sports - soft tennis, softball, baseball and kabaddi - in the Games.
The primary number of gold medals is estimated at 440 during the 10-day Games and a discussion on the number will be held in September. Meanwhile, Thailand's Asian Games selection committee chairman Charoen Wattanasin said 375 athletes will participate in the Doha Games. The figure does not include kabaddi players, who will be selected depending on their performance in the Asian Kabaddi Championships in October.
Thailand lose Thailand suffered a 3-1 loss to China in their opening match of the Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship in the Philippines yesterday. Thailand will take on Indonesia in their second match today. Meanwhile, the Thai men's team went down to Iran 3-0 in the Asian Men's Club Championship in Hanoi. The team had scored an unprecedented victory over China in the first match and defeated Bahrain in the second. They were to take on Burma later yesterday.
