Thai team shock the Chinese

[VOLLEYBALL] The Thai team pulled off one of the biggest wins in the 47-year history of the Volleyball Association of Thailand (VAT) when they defeated China 3-2 at the Asian Men's Club Championship in Hanoi, Vietnam, on Sunday.
The Thai team, led by the experienced Suppachai Jitjamroon, stunned favourites China 19-25 25-21 23-25 29-27 15-11 in the curtain-raiser on Sunday. The powerful Chinese team built up a 2-1 lead before the Thai players fought back to level the match in the fourth set. Benefiting from erratic play by the opponents, the inspired Thai team wrapped up the fifth set and their first victory over a Chinese team since the establishment of the VAT. After stunning China, Thailand again came from behind to defeat Bahrain 3-1 in the second preliminary game on Monday. In the next round, the Thai men's team are due to play SEA Games arch-rivals Indonesia. Thailand are competing in Group A with Iran, China, Burma, Bahrain and Indonesia, while Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Taiwan, Japan and Vietnam are in Group B.
