Top court judge 'kills himself'

A Supreme Court judge who suffered chronic depression apparently drowned himself after leaving a suicide note to his wife and family, police said yesterday.

The body of Komwut Burithanawat, 58, was found caught in a fishing net in a 500-metre-long pond in Bangkok in the morning. Police suspect he had been dead for more than seven hours.

Komwit's wife found a handwritten farewell note left by her husband in the bedroom and alerted police on Friday night, but they failed to locate him in time. He had been visiting a hospital for depression for some time.
