Second win for Bangkok Bank

The Bangkok Bank team had their second straight win over
the Samut Prakarn side in the first preliminary round of the King's Cup Basketball Division
A Championship at Siam University's stadium yester-
day.
Led by national team player Pramote Chantaraniyom, the in-form bankers continued their brilliant form, routing Samut Prakarn 105-66 in Group B. In the another men's match, the star-studded Tiew Pai Ngarm fielded national team players including Chaiwat Kaedam and Chainarong Suntareeyapas to beat the Police club 74-31 in Group A. Tiew Pai Ngarm took advantage of their experienced players to lead 25-11 in the first quarter and they played aggressively to move away to a 43-17 lead in the next quarter. Later, the Police attempted to fight back and scored 13 points to end the third quarter at 55-24. The Police's efforts were not effective and they lost to Tiew Pai Ngarm 74-31. The Police were beaten by Sirichai Oil 41-47, while Tiew Pai Ngarm stunned favourites Hi-Tech 69-59 in the first match. In the women's division, Chiang Mai University came from behind to defeat veteran side Rak Nam Jai Club 60-49 in Group A, while Wat Noi Noppakhun could not pierce the Bangkok Bank's defensive set-up and lost to the women bankers 54-107 in Group B.
