Midyear senior military reshuffles announced

The midyear reshuffles of 454 senior military officers were announced on Saturday.
They are one officer attached to the Defence Ministry, 117 officers attached to the Office of the permanent secretary for Defence, 101 Supreme Command officers, 154 Army officers, 37 Navy officers and 42 Air Force officers. Among key transfers, Lt Gen Weerawit Khusamran, director of the Army Ordnance Department, became a special adviser to the Office of the Permanent Secretary for Defence and Maj Gen Jakkrit Intharathat, a specialist attached to the Army, became an assistant chief of staff for the defence minister. Maj Gen Thirawat Boonyapradab, deputy director of the Ordnance Department of theArmy, was promoted as director while Maj Gen Jiradet Khacharat, deputy commander of the Third Army Corp, was promoted as the commander. Lt Gen Thirapong Jirawong, a specialist of the Supreme Command, became chief of staff for the defence minister carrying the rank of general. Lt Gen Apichai Songsilp, the army assistant accountant, became a special adviser attached to the Office of the Defence Permanent Secretary. Lt Gen Weerasak Phairat, a specialist attached to the Supreme Command, became the chief of staff for the supreme commander. Col Jerdwut Kraprayoon, a son of former prime minister Gen Suchinda Kraprayoon, was promoted to the post of an assistant chief of staff to a deputy supreme commander, carrying the rank of major general. Lt Gen Pamook Uthaichai, commander of the Special Warfare Division, became a special adviser for the army commander carrying the rank of general.
