Thailand hangs on to title as world's top exporter, but Vietnam closes in
Thailand maintained its status as the world's top rice exporter in the first quarter, shipping 1.79 million tonnes of rice valued at Bt22.64 billion, the foreign trade department announced yesterday.
Rachane Potjanasuntorn, director-general of the department, said the average export price was US$317 (Bt11,921) per tonne.
