Danai Udomchoke, who has been making a series of first-round exits this season, has overcome his jinx to reach his first semi-final in the US$25,000 (Bt950,000) Coffee Cup Challenger at Centenary Sport Stadium in Chikmagalur, India, yesterday.
Danai ousted American lucky loser Phillip King 6-1 6-2 in the quarter-finals.On his way to the semi-finals, the second-seeded Thai beat Indian's Vishal Uppal 6-4 6-2 and France's Laurent Recouderc 6-4 6-3 in the first and second rounds. He will play his doubles partner Lu Yen-hsun of Taiwan today.
