NCCC to decide on Monday

The section committee for members of the National Counter Corruption Commission (NCCC) is expected to select all 18 candidates by April 17, the selection panel's secretary said yesterday.
Pramote Chotimongkol, a Parliament ombudsman who acts as secretary to the NCCC selection panel, said the panel would vote on the five remaining candidates next Monday. The selection panel has already chosen 13 candidates and recently decided to accept more applications for the NCCC posts. Pramote said a total of 11 applications were submitted, and the panel yesterday voted to reject one applicant and endorse the other 10. He said the 10 applicants would be asked to make a speech and declare their vision for the job to the selection panel on Monday. The panel would then vote to select five of them as NCCC candidates. The 18 candidates would later be sent to the Senate, which will select nine NCCC commissioners.
