Pavit goes 13 strokes clear

[GOLF] Thailand's Pavit Tangkamolprasert took an unasŽsailable 13stroke lead going into the fourth round of the 5th UBC International Junior Golf Championship at the Palm Hills Country Club Golf Course yesterday.

While not as spectacular as on Wednesday, Pavit nevertheless shot a oneunder 71 to maintain his lead over Janat Sakulpolphaisal and brother Anoop.

"My iron shots were not going exactly to the pin positions. I had to scramble sometimes. I made lot of three putts," said Pavit, who had birdies on holes 8, 12 and 16 and bogeys on 5 and 14.

The 16yearold Bangkokian was simply superb on the 12th green, where he made a 14foot downhill birdie putt.

"That gave me plenty of confiŽdence. The secret to play this golf course is to choose your position on the green. Since it is quite windy in the afternoon, we have to hit low balls on to the green. The greens here are not as easy as other golf courses. One often makes three putts here," said Pavit, who hopes to shoot a twounder score tomorŽrow for the title.
