Bahraini junket

A 20-member trade delegation led by officials from the Ministry of Commerce's Department of Export Promotion arrived in Bahrain yesterday to meet with representatives of that country's private sector.
"The success of this visit and last year's meeting convinced the department to organise another delegation to Bahrain later this year," Thai Ambassador Widhya Bhoolsuwan told the Gulf Daily News. Delegates will meet with their counterparts today at the Thai Business Centre in Manama. Widhya said the delegation included representatives from the garment, landscaping, gardening, indoor and outdoor furniture, foodstuffs, canned food and fruit, cosmetics and beauty supply, spa and herbal products, gold and silver jewellery, gifts and decorative items, hardwood and charcoal industries, among others. - The Nation.
Sansiri grows Sansiri Plc and its subsidiary announced revenues of Bt5.5 billion in this year's first quarter, thanks to the launch of the company's first six Condominium One projects, said managing director Srettha Thaweesin. He said demand for housing priced at Bt2 million to Bt3 million had continued to grow. The new Sansiri projects launched this quarter features prices averaging Bt2 million to Bt5 million and they received positive feedback from the market. He said that if the market trend continued, company sales would reach this year's target of Bt14 billion. - The Nation.
Car orders soar Prachin Eamlumnow, chief executive of Grand Prix International Co Ltd, which arranged the Bangkok International Motor Show last week, said the show's outcomes were outperforming against the political turmoil. He said 1.6 million people came to the show and 15,460 were ordered. Most orders placed were for pickups and small- and medium-sized cars. The makers with the most reservations were Toyota with 4,900, Isuzu with 2,003, Honda, 1,303, Chevrolet with1,148, and Mitsubishi with 1,248. - The Nation.
