TAT plans big tourism sale

The Tourism Authority of Thailand and NCC Exhibition Organiser Co (NEO) will host the largest annual exposition of the best Thai products and services, which will be offered at special discounts of 10-60 per cent.
The Amazing Thailand Grand Sale Grand Service will run from June 1-4 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre.Ladda Mongkolchaiwiwat, managing director of NEO, said 250,000 visitors were expected to spend more than Bt300 million at the four-day event. Featured will be 700 booths of tourism products and services from throughout the Kingdom, including hotel and accommodation, tours and airlines. Operators will offer a wide array of tour packages, resorts and air tickets at attractive promotional prices. Fifty luxury hotels nationwide would discount their room rates as much as 60 per cent. Participating hotels will include AANA Resort and Spa Koh Chang, the Amari Group, JW Marriott Phuket, Imperial Queen's Park, the Royal Princess Group, Pimalai Resort Lanta, Samui Peninsula and Aiyapura Resort Koh Chang. Other offerings will include the Amazing Shopping Paradise, a variety of goods and services offered at special prices, including apparel, silk, leather, jewellery, healthcare and beauty products. The Brand-Name Paradise, as the name implies, will feature excellent buys for brand-name men and women's fashion products, particularly good value for the money. The Retro Life Museum will provide entertainment in the form of music from the golden age of the 1960s to the 1980s. As for the ongoing political crisis, hotel operators on Koh Samui and Koh Chang said the number of domestic travellers would remain stable, while foreign tourism would grow on the two islands.
