Pressure on pair to ditch PM

Chaturon, Prommin face disapproval from their old school
In an open letter, Suan Kulap classmates have urged "Oi" and "Mo Ming" to swiftly sever ties with a leader who is fraudulent and lacking in ethics and make clear their stand before becoming branded as people who are aiding and abetting the destruction of Thailand. Twenty-five Suan Kulap Class 87 cohorts of caretaker Education Minister Chaturon Chaisang - nicknamed Oi - and PM's secretary-general Prommin Lertsuridej - nicknamed Mo Ming - called on them to stop working with a leader who is fraudulent and lacks ethics. Their letter to Chaturon and Prommin says: "The Suan Kulap Class 87 cohorts have been dubbed the Octobrists for their proud exploits in the October 14, 1973 uprising. They have contributed to the nation's history. They participated in developing the country, adhering to righteousness, virtues and ethics. Some assume posts of administering the country. Others pursue their spirit in the countryside or are engaged in public and private sector work. Every one of us is proud of our cohorts for their contribution to the country, such as Chaturon Chaisang and Dr Prommin Lertsuridej, both of whom shine in their competence and integrity. Today the situation in the country has reached a critical change. The leader lacks ethical legitimacy as never before. The sale of Shin Corp stock was the last straw, leaving a lot of people feeling that the prime minister is no longer fit to run the country. We, the cohorts of Class 87, feel concerned and are confident you have suggested a suitable way out for the premier, based on principle and solidarity. Still, it is futile and the longer you have been acting as the supportive limbs of the Thaksin regime, the more likely that you risk becoming the aiders and the abetters for him to hit the country and the Thai people where it most hurts. We send this letter to you as cohorts. We ask you to declare your stand adhering to ethics and righteousness. Be swift in severing the tie to a leader who is fraudulent and lacks ethical legitimacy. As members of the Suan Kulap Class 87 we may differ in political tenets, but we are united in our friendship and always adhere to virtues and ethics.
Best regards Suan Kulap Class 87 cohorts"
