The situation is not required state of emergency : Thaksin

Caretaker Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra said he did not plan to put the country into the state of emergency.
The People's Alliance for Democracy alleged that the government was behind the bombing attack in front of the house of Privy Council President Prem Tinsulanonda on Thursday so that it could cite the situation to declare a state of emergency. Thaksin said the accusation was pure imagination. "Their mind wander again and again, I simply don't understand it," Thaksin said. A small bomb was exploded in front of residence of Gen Prem, injuring two foreigners. Later in the evening, two firecrackers were thrown into Vajiravudh College home of Dr Chai-anan Samudvanija. Thaksin denounced the bomber as he met with senior officials in Bangkok. "I condemn the use of any kind of violence, and I do not want to see any violence. I believe the most recent two to three bomb attacks were the work of the same person," he said. Meanwhile the Army has eased fear that the deepening political crisis would lead to declaration of state of emergency following a bomb attack at Gen Prem's residence. "The situation is not yet escalated to the level that the government would declare state of emergency," Army Commander in Chief Gen Sondhi Boonyarataklin. Deputy Prime Minister Chidchai Vanasathit said the current situation does not require the declaration of a state of emergency. "We will wait and see how the situation evolves," he said.
