HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WEEK
More petitions

A group of senior doctors, academics, senators, businessmen, social activist and respected figures will today submit a petition to His Majesty the King seeking a royally appointed prime minister who can restore political order.

Time running out

The Election Commission is due to close registration for constituency candidates for the House on Wednesday. It is probable that the Thai Rak Thai Party will only be opposed by minor parties in traditional Democrat strongholds, meaning TRT candidates could struggle to win the minimum 20 per cent of the vote needed to take the seat.

Democrats on tour

The Democrat Party has been touring the provinces to clarify why it is boycotting the April 2 election. The party's teams are due in Ratchaburi on Monday, in Tak, Phichit and Phitsanulok on Tuesday and Samut Sakhon and Samut Songkhram on Wednesday.
